GOTD Twitter fans rock!

Hi there!

Guess what? 10000th user joined the list of our followers on Twitter just several hours ago! It is ours (we mean it’s yours too) little triumph, as only a year ago it seemed so unreachable. Keep up!

And for those our fans who are not that keen on Twitter, let us remind you that there is a way of getting giveaway updates on Facebook: add GOTD special application and it will post new offers right on your wall.

We do our best to give you more choice, but making a decision is always up to you!

Best regards,
GOTD project team

  1. Hi GOTD.
Nice to hear of your accomplishment! However, I do not use Facebook nor Twitter. I wonder how you keep track of, let’s say, who posts the widget, or blogs about this website?

Keep up the good work! It’s always interesting to find out new developers. In fact, I’ve been recently in contact with one!

  2. Like PC Tech Guy, I don’t use Facebook or Twitter either.

So I was somewhat honked off when a great banner with a supposedly ‘cute’ kitten pleaded with me to add some GOTD thing to Facebook.

MUST you pollute your site with Facebook-related guff? And if you must, isn’t there any way you can CHECK whether the person viewing your site USES Facebook before annoying them (me) with Facebook-related guff?

  3. I’ve got to agree with Cad on this; I find the cutesy kitten annoying. I hope you’re not going to keep it popping up every day?

  4. I used to really like your site and have purchased any number of software programs for my business after trying them out. Now I must endure a facebook popup ad every day. Sorry, but no more. I don’t use facebook or twitter. I’ll check back in a few months to see if you have taken this off but in the meantime I’m going look for things on other sites.

  5. I know you don’t let any opportunity pass to add more third party garbage to your website, in return causing us to update our adware blockers, but I have to say it’s really, really annoying.

I get my daily mail with the offer you have, and that’s more than enough. I have no personal affection to you guys and this sort of thing is the reason I don’t suggest you to other people.

  6. I don’t use Facebook or Twitter either. Is possible to join mailing list that would make sure we keep in mind to check Giveawayoftheday every day. I sometimes forget to check it and then look what I missed. Usually I miss rare really cool applications like Inpaint or the cool very respected firewall you had. I forgot name but I just know it is damn good. Also some games are cool but I really wish you would have more of them. I miss strategy games and some newer games. It seems most programs are worth around 30-50 dollars while games are mostly worth 10x less. I am not saying it means less satisfaction but there is something missing at games. They all seems to be just puzzles or very simple games. I need some challange and thats not just racing or thinking hard to figure puzzles. I love to try games that make me happy when I get home from work. That I can relax and enjoy and feel good. I know…I am hard costumer to satisfy tho :) You are doing good job anyway^^

  10. LOVE Twitter way more than Facebook, & try to RT all your GOTD tweets everyday, or post it on one of the discount/savings sites. I’ve recieved lots of great downloads from you, and only fair to share with others… @sajak551

  12. Wow! There are a lot of angry people out there! – I like the comment by the guy who says that he feels no personal affection for you, yet isn’t he expecting some from you saying that you should cater to his needs while indicating that he doesnt recommend this site because of your actions – that seems like it is against the purpose of Giveaway, I mean, this site is 100% free to the user. You ask us to spread the word – thats about it. Now this dude thinks that one left click is too high a price to pay? It seems that he thinks he is entitled to get free programs.

We get a chance to see and use software that we normally wouldn’t – for no charge. The one person who was against this, but refrained from smashing, threatening, etc you, was Bill.
Although I don’t use Face or Twit, I do find it a little annoying that everytime I go to the home page, I am presented with an ad that forces an action from us. Maybe you could put a check box or something that would say, do not remind me again, (and then have a embedded banner ad in the page from then on.) If on the other hand you get $$ for everytime it pops up on a visit, then I totally understand, and that is the price we pay for our Giveaways. I mean, a left click is not that high of a price to pay to make sure that our Giveawayoftheday is still there tomorrow…..
