Where has AVS Video Editor gone?

Sorry guys. Bad things happen and AVS Video Editor’s disappearance is one of those things.

The developer asked us to call a halt to this giveaway due to technical issues. We hope they will be back to GOTD quite soon, and we are always here to let you know when it’s gonna happen. Once we agree on it with the AVS team of course. :)

We are thinking over offering a replacement for today, so stay tuned. :)

UPDATE: AVS Video Editor is back on Thursday, October 09.

GOTD team

  1. Please advise on AVS video editor.
    Many Thanks.

  2. Will you offer a “extended” time period for review should a replacement is offered later today?

  3. Please also advise what to do with an already installed version of today’s giveaway, f.e. unistall, overwrite. Thks.

  4. No GAOTD today. My part of the world is still here, so I guess the destroying of something as big as the world can’t be done instantly. I’m going to go try to spend all my money before the end, and I’ll give away what I can’t spend. I’ll keep checking the web to find out when the destruction starts, and I’ll try to get royally drunk before the destruction gets here.

  7. No problem! Nobody need the old, old tools from AVS. They were good ten years ago – now “out of time”. I tested all 16 and found not one that I need – have much more better alternates installed.

  8. @Eike Justus
Just keep it if you like it. ;)

  9. Was really looking forward to learning more about that one. Please keep us informed.

  10. Once the technical issues are worked out, will it be available again for a brand new day, maybe as a re-run?

  12. What kind of technical issues they’ve had?

  13. I guess I was one of the few lucky ones that got it installed. It is a fine product, and I never bothered to run for their other products that might be free with the same code . I think that this what got them worried.

  14. Re #12, my guess is that they realised too late that they gave away all their 16 programmes, not only the video editor.

  15. @ Agu
See my question (#3) and the answer to it (#8). I assume it’s not a problem of the software itself. Their trial version works fine so far. I think it’s because of the license or version they gave away. Am I right, admin?

  16. @ Agu Me thanks because regular poster Karl let it be known that yesterdays license enabled one to download and register numerous other products from the vendor free of charge.

  17. love love AVS Video Editor.

  18. I tested the AVS video editor and I found it very useful.
The only major drawback could be, that the readme stated it to be a 1-year license. Does this mean that the program won’t work after 1 year?

I would be pleased to see more of AVS giveaways here!

  19. No GAOTD today. My part of the world is still right here, so I think the destroying of something as huge as the world can not be done instantaneously. I’m going to go attempt to spend all my cash before completion, and I’ll hand out exactly what I can not invest. I’ll keep examining the internet to find out when the damage starts, and I’ll attempt to get royally drunk prior to the damage gets right here.

  20. Few years back I purchased (back then) quite expensive unlimited license from AVS4you I used it few times (shortly after i bought) and it was not all that best to satisfy the task i was performing. so i did not used it since.

I just changed to a new computer as the old one 8 year old Mac laptop died.
I contacted AVS4YOU support to transfer the unlimited license to my new computer, they would not do that, they told me to buy a new license.

I AM QUITE FRUSTRATED with that, it supposed be be unlimited and i don’t have it installed on any computer as the unlimited license wont work.

    good luck

  21. The AVS editor and the package of other apps I too bought and used several years ago. I really learned a lot and did the one year plan. I better products, but the editor I miss for it’s ease of use and I knew it inside out. Yes, I remember the ‘for life’ promo it was about $30.00 more. Glad I didn’t fall for that. This licensing nonsense is terribly frustrating. It’s a staged game in how much money they can get from us by repeatedly re buying the product. I do a lot of imaging of my OS and it never fails that some unregister themselves yet it’s the same OS and hardware.

  22. So you already did re-run it, BUT you did not announce it on the FB where I expected you to let us know. Thanks a lot. Sigh. (frustrated) :-(
