The Cleaner is replaced with RSS Wizard 4.0
Hello everybody!
Things happen, you know. Though The Cleaner‘s promotion was planned in advance, we could not predict Moosoft’ team’s site would be down so soon after the giveaway started.
We’ve sent them a couple of letters, but there is no answer still (their e-mail addresses seem to be involved in this issue too). We hope that it is not that kind of problem that will prevent Moosoft from running The Cleaner again. Anyway we will keep you informed.
As for today, RSS Wizard 4.0 has just been published instead.

Thanks, but i downloaded it before it got replaced. Yes website unreachable and Software informer beta is also installed next to it.

What a disappointment. I saw The Cleaner was the GOTD and tried to download but my connection was also playing up. I remember using ‘The Cleaner’ many years ago, well before CCleaner was around, and as I recall it was a very good program. Hope it is available on GOTD soon.

At this point I am not sure why the server is down. I am very sorry it has not been available!
For what it is worth, the server is back up.
It is now 6 hours since The Cleaner was first offered. I have just managed to install and activate the software from their site (portable version) and it seems to be working as I have just scanned my hard drive. The site for the key is still active.

PS. I have deliberately not given the website to get the key but those who have downloaded this morning would know where to go.
Yes the server is up but you still can’t get a serial number.
If the site is back up it isn’t working again. I would have liked to try this one. I downloaded this last night and was unable to register it and was hoping to do that this morning.
I also downloaded it and found the registering site was out of action. Annoying as it was a large file to download. But when they get it right I won’t have to do so again. I hope and can just get it registered whenever!

Thank you, guys for being on top of this, and I hope Moosoft can fix their problems and offer The Cleaner another day.
I like the Cleaner software I downloaded it as trial over the period of last Christmastime (2010) and it pulled by=e out a deep mdeep hole as I had a nasty trojan which locked up my computer.
This was one of three antimalware sodftware items I used to get riid of that nast trojan that nearly wiped me out.
What a pity they are now having problems themselves….
Apr 4 – I d/l The Cleaner, installed and then I immediately deinstalled it. It isn’t just that their site failed to load when the install first asked for the registration key, then when it worked the second time all it said was “You already have a key” but it didn’t tell me what it was, making it impossible to get the application running at all! It was that even if I had the key all it did was unlock the software for the first year. That’s not really much of a giveaway compared to other applications.
Seems to be up again – I’ve just dl’d and registered it.
Unfortunately the registration code is somewhat tricky (try to register, ignore the error message “expired”, choose “enter new reg code”, just enter the same code, works. Weird.
Additional annoyance: The registration web page states “Here is your free 1-year registration code: (…)” … I thought GOTD allways gives away unlimited software licenses ????

Well I must have been one of the lucky ones as it downloaded and, although a little clunky to achieve, registered ok. Ran a scan and it worked fine.
The following day my machine started to throw a wobbly, blue screen of death followed blue screen of death. This went on for a couple of hours and all looked bleak.A diagnostic threw up that the problems were being caused by ‘the cleaner’ software. Reluctantly I uninstalled The Cleaner and yes, my machine is now back to normal! No more BSOD’s and unexpected crashes or lock ups.
Using: ACER Travelmate 5730, Vista, 3Gb usable RAM, 500Gb HDD
Wonder if anyone else experienced this or was not able to deduce the culprit to be The Cleaner?
