Dear users (especially social networks fans),
we are planning a major accounts merge that will concern every GOTD visitor, got used to keep up with GOTD news on Facebook. Due to many reasons our project has a triple presentation on this popular social network. You may:
Good news first – we leave Facebook application untouched in terms of both content and location. This said, if you once granted it, keep enjoying.
Next thing to be said is that we have been longing for gathering all our fans under one Facebook page for ages (literally). Thanks to Facebook developers, we are now having an excellent window of opportunity that can’t be missed. So from this moment our project’s secluded nook on this great service is:
“Like” it and stay tuned to GOTD offers and news!
Besides, according to Facebook recent changes, this very page will also become a home for our application. Hence if you unsubscribed from it because of unstable work within last several months, feel free to find and re-Like it there.
Meanwhile let’s get down to the merge process itself: how it’s all going to be arranged. Unfortunately, there is no chance we can fetch all of you automatically, so you will have to come and “Like” our brand-new page manually. According to our most optimistic views it should take a week (or two – depending on your eagerness to help us in speeding up this important transfer). We stop supporting (apart from tweets maybe) as-a-person-page and an old project page now and close them in two weeks.
In case we see you need more time – we’ll give it. No doubt. But initial plan is as described above. :)
We wanna hope that it’s great news as Facebook matters! In case you have any questions or suggestions regarding GOTD Facebook accounts or doubt, whether you need or not to re-subscribe, please feel free to submit your comment right here.
FYI: our Twitter account remains the same. No moves here! ;)
Have a nice day, wherever you are!
GOTD project team
I hope that this does NOT mean I have to get a facebook account to access GAOTD as I am a fanatic social networks anti-fan. and I *really* hate facebook!
If I do not have a Facebook account, will I still receive the Givaway of the Day. I sure hope so.

What does this mean for people who don’t use facebook and don’t want to use it?Can we still access giveawayoftheday like we do now? Thank you.
Dear users,
this post DOES NOT imply that you have to get a Facebook account for yourself (in case you don’t use Facebook) to keep using GOTD and installing our offers.
Facebook is one of the ways to stay updated with every giveaway. Given this option is of convenience, please “Like” our new page.

GOTD project team did you read both the ” terms of service ” and the ” EULA ” ?
here is a couple of links you should read … in the first link read the third paragraph titled ” Your Content Is Our Content ”

To me GAOTD is a website with a very small threshold to go visit:
Just go there with your browser and you’re in business.
Every day some kind of software is chosen to present. You either like it or not, next day, new chances. Easy enough to return once again.
When you are interested in the software presented that very day, you can read about it and even download your own copy. Great concept from a visitors point of view.
Now, this “Early Spring Cleaning”-blog is not all very clear to me.
What is facebook adding to all of this except from a larger threshold.
I’m not much into the social media hype either. No way I’m going to participate in that.
Will the old concept of an old-fashioned browser-page stay into excistence? The answer to that wil be the same for my visits to GAOTD.
Glad to know I am not the only non-Facebook user of GOTD!!!
I have to add my two cents here. I also gotten rid of my Facebook account years ago.
There are many of us that won’t touch facebook. It’s really annoying that contests and giveaways seem to be leaning to a “like me to enter” model for there promotions. Personally, I don’t “like” anyone. And I truly never intend to be a “fan” of a product. That would be reserved for a sports team. So unless I can find alternate methods of entry, I suppose that I am out in the cold on a lot of offers. But just as I am out in the cold, so are the marketers who choose to exclusively go the facebook way.
Same here… I also got rid of my Facebook account. Basically its just an avenue for people to talk about “themselves”. With online records, registrations, email accounts, online purchases, credit cards, etc… it’s hard enough keeping your private life private these days. Why add to it? Also… seems almost on a weekly basis you see a news story about someone who got busted, fired, arrested, divorced etc etc… for something they posted on their Facebook page thinking it was private.
I love GOTD, but have no use for Facebook. Glad FB won’t be required!
The main reason I have a Facebook acct. is so I can keep up with my kids, grand kids, and family, so I just use it for that!
In order to keep the theam alive alive, I’d like to add my voice to the “I do not like” Facebook crowd. The idea behind Facebook seems silly and I can’t understand the attraction that the Facebook project seems to have to some adults.

It seems. it is going to be popular.
People of any age group can comfortably explore
I agree with everyone else about facebook. The only reason I have one is the my daughter made one for me, I might look at it once every 3 months or so. As long as GOTD keeps a webpage here I will keep enjoying the software and keep visiting this webpage.
If GAOTD is keeping their website, I can think of no reason to go to Facebook. However, Facebook has gotten to be a replacement for domain controllers who charge high prices to use their domains (including internet providers). Facebook is FREE. This is why almost everyone with something to sell is going to Facebook. I got rid of my account on Facebook as well (waaaay to many ads and personal posts that I had no interest in whatsoever … even from my “friends”). PS. How to you go to a Facebook site without logging in to Facebook? You have to have SOME type of account to log in (Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, etc.) even if you just want to do a search much less go to a Facebook page?
