Hello everybody!
We are sorry but we will need to halt PCHand Screen Suite for today due to some problems with the software.
From Developer:
Dear GOTD Users,
We do apologize for this!
After testing, we found out the most possible reason. One component of PCHand suite, common.dll, is compiled with Delphi former version, and actually, this issue never reported by any security software before. However, Kapersky and Symantec recently (around Feb. 9th) updated the virus library and misrepresented this component contained torjan. Now we are solving this problem.
For those who installed & activate PCHand Screen Capture Recorder Suite succefully. Please take it easy, we promise it’s absolutely safe.
Best Regards,
PCHand Software
We hope that we will be able to publish it again soon.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards,
Giveaway of the Day project team
Is it advisable for those of us who already installed Screenrecorder before it was taken down, to un-install it? Or is it safe to carry on using it?
Bummer, I was looking forward to checking this one out. Look forward to seeing this one offered again. Thanks
Can we have more details of the problems for those of us who have already downloaded and installed. Are there problems we should be worried about?
What exactly is the matter with software?…Because I already downloaded and activated it.
I am very disappointed that the PCHand Screen Suite was removed. That is exactly the software I’ve needed for months. I’m a faithful GOTD user and promoter, though, and I’m sure if you say there were problems, there were PROBLEMS. Thanks, guys. I just hope that I don’t miss the software when it is finally re-released.
Thanks for the advisory, I came here as soon as I got the email…looked like a good program…Oh well, also hope I don’t miss it when if it shows up again!
Yes, this software was something I was looking for also.
Maybe they will offer it very soon.
Thank you for all of your efforts.
Since I joined giveawayoftheday, this was the only software that seemed to have at least some utility to me… and it disappeared.
Sad.. :(
For those persons who are using Vista or Windows 7 there is a program called snipping tool. Go to the start button, type in snipping tool and follow directions for installing it. It will show up on the bar next to the start button (ORB). respectfully submitted.
WHAT?! I didn’t even get to look at it
Thank you. I will be looking forward to seeing it again soon.
Keep up this good service.
There were probably some last minute political or legal problem, or its author got cold feet; maybe he’s already got a downloadable full version for a trial period and decided, “What the hey?! Why did I think that giving away fully licensed packages would help my sales?!!” In any case, I don’t think a software bug was the problem, judging from the message and careful wording GOTD put up about it. If there was something buggy, otherwise, they would have said much more, especially something like, “For those who might already have installed the package, we suggest it be uninstalled to ensure your systems’ integrity and security.” That’s what my first impressions were, after reading their short post. Those who did already download and install the suite, be glad you were a part of the lucky bunch that jumped on it right away; keep running it and simply keep any eye open for the first signs of trouble. Backup your system, make sure you’re using a good security suite that runs scans frequently and you should be fine! cu
I found trojans inside the installer,
is that why it was taken down?
Downloaded PCHand Screen Capture yesterday and have not had ANY trouble with it, infact it’s a GREAT piece of software!! Thanks GAOTD :-)
Maybe the software developer did not intend to give the Suite version for free. Maybe they want to give Screen Capture or Screen Recorder as a promotion instead.
Especially for those of us who downloaded the “PCHand Screen Capture Recorder Suite” which was briefly posted as the giveaway this morning, we would naturally expect details of the “problems with the software” that warranted its removal and replacement. So…please, explain.

Thank you! :)
So pleased to hear that my download and activation is safe, pleased because it is by far the best video capture program I have ever used, and I have used many. The quality of the capture is excellent and it manages to do this without overloading my system, all others have reduced it to the speed of molasses.

Thanks for this explanation. Looks like very good software, simple to use and does the job well.
Dear PCHand Software,
Is there a chance that you will let GOTD publish PCHand Screen Capture Recorder Suite again in the nearest future? :)
Hoping,
FF
Please try to get this program or a similar one back for download. Thank you.
I too used the software before it was removed and wrote a long feedback, mostly praising it. The feedback unfortunately disappeared, but I’ll just reaffirm that it is good!
Incidentally, the file common.dll was flagged by Kaspersky and SOPHOS, not Symantec. (according to Virustotal). Symantec has no problem with it, as of a few minutes ago.
Hope other GAOTD followers have the opportunity to take part in this software soon!
Latest update:
The file ImageEditor.exe in the “Capture” module is being flagged by 13 of the 41 VirusTotal scanners, mostly as Drop.Delf.eml or Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Delf.eml. This is nothing to do with the common.dll problem. PCHand please get your act together!
Thank you for bringing this back today, I saw it in my CheapStingyBargains newsletter and thnk this will be way better than taking dozens of screenshots and making a slideshow for times when I need to do that sort of thing. Like when my wife needs help doing something on her laptop out in the field and I can’t go to her.
Free Cam Studio has been working for me. As far as screen recorder with sound.
Thought I’d try this but it’s just a 15 day trial version.
I thought it’s suppose to be permanent.
Iwas one of the lucky ones ”’ don t no if this software was the cause
but shortly after tryihg it pc crashed and locked hard drive have now
installed a new one had to start from scratch so maybe not so lucky
Uninstall works great. If there is any question I uninstall… look forward to using when it comes up again. It sounds like a good product from the comments.
What? But i LIKE it! Do I have to uninstall it? Would it cause problems to my system if I left it there? I didn’t find problems so far. Can I continue using it?

I am glad that I got the programs before they were taken down, it works great and is one of the best giveaways ever.
Thanks GOTD, great program.
That soft is absolutely KILLER! Just the thing I’d been wanting since I first got a PC! and it works perfectly- no probs at all thnx GOTD! :)
I just read the comments above, and can’t help but wonder how “dense” some people are???
The blog entry clearly says:
“For those who installed & active PCHand Screen Capture Recorder Suite successfully. Please take it easy, we promise it’s absolutely safe.”
First post I read says:
“………..Or is it safe to carry on using it?”
And so many more asking virtually the same question….
Guess we need to read the whole blog entry that GOTD posts before making comments????
True. Avira (Freed Edition) found it on my XP and I used Revo to erase all traces of it.
@ Lady Trucker, # 33:
Guess we need to read the whole blog entry that GOTD posts before making comments????
But is it safe to do that? Do you know if it’s safe? Hasn’t someone else said it isn’t? Surely, reading something all the way through is dangerous (which is why so many people choose not to?)
Hmmmm. . .
Hopefully the developer will be able to provide, via GOTD, a future opportunity to try this software.
@ LadyTrucker
I think the reason for it is because originally, the blog entry didn’t have that message, it was added on later, when the developer posted in the comments, as on comment #17
One of the biggest challenges faced by any developer of a complex product or service (even if it’s only slightly complicated) is that some people just don’t take the time to thoroughly READ INSTRUCTIONS. In the case of software, they just automatically skip past pre-checked checkboxes, double-click the installer and blindly click the “I Agree” button when they see it.
Then they complain about all of the toolbars and sytem tray icons (with corresponding drain on computer resources as a result).
That’s the big difference between dealing with “professionals” and “consumers.”
Mind you, I’m not saying that “consumers” are any less intelligent than “professionals” – they just don’t know what they don’t know!
In this industry, patience isn’t just a virtue – it’s a necessity! I and my associates reconfirm this with almost every radio show we broadcast (found by clicking my name on this comment).
Hi Folks,
This is not uncommon with a low-level utility like a Task Manager or a Screen recorder. They will use components that are perfectly fine but a few of the anti-virus folks see the low-level behaviour and put out warnings.
Usually the developer give you his personal assurance, (and the more personal and visible the better) somebody contacts the malware finders, and life goes on.
Here, for reasons speculated, it was handled differently.
Shalom,
Steven
