To SliceMaker users: pay attention!

Hello everybody!

Good news for those who downloaded and installed SliceMaker during the Giveaway day but suddenly faced a bug. Some of you started receiving an error saying “You are on day XXX of your 7 day evaluation period. Your trial periods is expired!”. We are hasted to let you know that this bug was successfully fixed by the Developer and now you have an opportunity to re-download SliceMaker Standard version.

Follow these steps:

  1. Download SliceMaker Standard v3.5 at: http://www.slicemaker.com/down/slicemaker_standard.exe
  2. Use the same Username and Password you got from GOTD to register this software:
    Username: Giveawayoftheday
    Password: 0650606823062

IMPORTANT NOTE: The registration info provided by GOTD will expire on July 1st, 2013. So hurry up, guys, and replace your current version!

SliceMaker Soft developers and GOTD team are both sorry for the inconvenience.

  1. What was the registration info? I didn’t keep it from the first download and the new version required me to remove the existing installed one before I could install it and the reg info was not retained.

  3. Sorry for 2 notes. I think I recall the keys. Hope so. If both were same & both a word, then yes I remember. If not, then I’m still lost. Thanks.

  5. Effective June 27, 2013, Slicemaker developer will offer a promotion for free lifetime and one-year subscription licenses for “Slicemaker Standard” program. This promo is being advertised, in advance, on their website now.

  6. I have deleted the bad program and the registration info. Where can I get it once again. Thank you

  7. what hapens it you didn’t keep the file?

  8. I have several editions (at least 2010, 2011, and 2013) of “SliceMaker” installed on my computer. I have some SliceMaker files dating back to 2008. What I do not have is any of the installation files for any version of the program.

After I install a GOTD offer I delete the installation files from my computer. Until now, I could see no reason to keep the installation files around. I doubt that the program developer or GOTD knew in advance that we would need to keep installation files on our computer to repair a program that was later found to be defective. I certainly did not know and for reasons of efficiency deleted said files.

For reason or reasons unknown I did keep the most recently downloaded version of the “SliceMaker” program (2013). My usual practice is to immediately delete any program that does not work correctly. I broke tradition on this point with the SliceMaker 2013 version. I stayed within my traditional behavior and did uninstall the GOTD installation files after installing the program.

What to do? I see no other choice than to keep megabytes of installation files if they belong to a broken program that I would really like to have on my computer. Any other suggestion? I do appreciate the re-offer of this program because I am sure that there are some the can take advantage of the opportunity to reinstall SliceMaker.

  9. I no longer have the registration information from the day of the SliceMaker offering, I deleted the registration information for the reason mentioned above.

I made a comment on the SliceMaker program offering page highlighting the bug that said “You are on day XXX of your 7 day evaluation period”. My comment concerning the bug was a first comment on the issue. Perhaps I should say that when I made my comment no other comments had passed the moderation phase and were posted on the page.

If the comment page from the day of the program offering is still available for viewing, I can submit a screenshot of the comment that I made. I can also submit a screenshot of the error message that I received when I try to open the program.

I guess those two things are the best I can do.

  11. GOTD

It appears that I am the only one that is displaying interest in the “SliceMaker” program. Perhaps other visitors to GOTD that had interest in the SliceMaker program no longer have the installation files and feel that follow-up is a waste of time. For whatever reason the reinstallation issue does not seem to be generating much activity and absent are comments and enthusiastic rantings for or against the program.

I would like to have this program and I have called attention to that fact. What say you give old Bigun a break here and let him download the program and install it.

Today is 23 June 2013. I am puzzled why my comments from 20 June and 21 June are still awaiting moderation. It appears to me that GOTD users and GOTD alike are reticent to show any enthusiasm or support for this program.

Yesterday I was given a crudely made doll stuffed with straw. A long sharp needle accompanied the doll. I have been wanting to see if the needle is a hat pin and push it into the head of the doll. No hat accompanied the doll and my enthusiasm for obtaining the SliceMaker program is waning to the point that I am not sure I will make a hat to go on the doll. So as not to lose the pin I will probably go ahead and stick it in the doll’s head anyway.

Let us see if any of these comments shakes the tree hard enough to be awarded a program for posting my original comment and then gathering up more publicity for the developer and good old GOTD.

I should give a heads up and say that a telephone call to my office (number “BR 549”) will be answered by the receptionist who does not speak any dialect of English that the rest of the staff can understand. She is the one that brought me the doll. The most easy solution to this issue is probably to provide me with a link to download the program and a file to activate once it has been installed.

Thanking you in advance, I remain Bigun.

  12. Hello, how about rerunning this GOTD for all the people, like me, who uninstalled slicemaker when it started to mess up with the bug, and no longer have the original username/password? It wasn’t our fault it messed up.

    Thanks.

  14. Thankx for the new version.
i still had the registration code.
Had to uninstall the other version and then install the new version.
When i wanted to register, it told me i allready was registered.
so i would say, just give it a try if you allready had it before :)
Maybe you also dont have to register again.

    have fun

  15. Dear users,

you can now find registration data in this post. Please note that expiration date is still the same: June 01, 2013.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,
    GOTD team

  16. To GOTD users,

Firstly, thanks Peey for raising the question. Here, I would like to inform all GOTD users below information:

If you are windows 8 users and you have registered SliceMaker Standard v3.5 successfully before, you may just need to uninstall the previous version and re-download the current version, which means you may not need to register, the software will still work without functional limitations.

    Thanks for your attention!

  17. I downloaded slicemaker to fix the bug and it will not install and run on my windows 8 system

  18. What a disappointment, uninstalled original version as was getting the error, downloaded and reinstalled, opening screen flashes up, disappears, then a chinese written screen similar to registration screen flashes, then all disappears.

  19. Thanks GOTD. I just knew you would come through. Really, I know these things. To prove that fact, I will bet that you meant in your June 26, 2013, comment that the offer will end on July 1, 2013, rather than your stated date of June 1st.

We all have bad days. Excuse me. But, what was that link again?

Comment by Bigun — June 28th, 2013 at 3:07 am
  20. “To SliceMaker users: pay attention!” So says GOTD in their original June 19, 2013, introductory comment. That original comment was modified just a wee bit by adding registration information to it.

You certainly got me. I am humbled. Perhaps you will accept my apology (Bigun offers his apology) if I point other GOTD fans and users to the top of the page where they can find the registration information.

You are good GOTD – very good.

  21. Tried and tried and tried installation and reinstallation in Win7 x64 HP with all updates. Keeps throwing .NET exceptions at startup no matter what I do. Hard to understand why this software seems so problem-prone.

Comment by AnAceBuyer — July 2nd, 2013 at 7:52 am
  22. Just so you have the details, here’s the error message:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application….

The type initializer for ‘guanlian_web_cut.reg” threw an exception.

If I select “Continue” instead of “Quit” at that point, the application just hangs and I have to kill it with Task Manager.

Thanks for offering the software. I take advantage of lots of the GOTD offers w/o problem.

  23. I think you could have at the very least emailed those who no longer had the registration information. I got here today on the 8th to try and re register and i am too late. An email would have brought me here sooner.

I think another Give away is in order. So those who want the software have a chance to get it registered correctly.

    Thanks,
    -Rod
