End of the year giveaway reruns

The New Year is coming up and we are ready to offer you more and more interesting giveaways in 2009.

During the last December days we would repeat the best giveaways of the past year. These programs won the best ratings from you and gained the greater number of downloads and unique visitors on their giveaway day. We’ll start today (December, 20) with Typing Assistant 4.2 from Sumit Software.

So, enjoy the best from our developers and GOTD! Happy holidays and good downloads in 2009!

Regards,
Project Team.

  1. Hope you do it right, people.

We have been given re-re-re-re-runs out of some “pearls” and not a single one of the GOOD ones: ShellLess (updated versions – win2K compatible now!), Direct Access and Advanced File Organizer *3.01* (updated also), and as for games, Hacker Evolution – ReInserction and Biathlon.

  2. Thank you, GOTD! This is a really good idea. I lost a hard drive, sigh, and a lot of my favorite GOTD programs with it. Now, I can probably get some of them back and that’s really helpful!

Note: I would have bought them if I could, as was my practice, but I have really personal experience with the economy this past year.

  6. I have downloaded several programs, and found them fine for the purposes the program was designed to do. I thank you for the opportunity to test the applications and look forward to change several missed opportunities where I simply did not anticipate a future need.

  7. WOW. I am really looking forward to getting back some of MY favorites that I lost. I hope they are offered. Please make one of them Button Maker.

Thanks for a nice Christmas present GAOTD!

  8. Great news! Please offer again the HD recovery software you had previously offered. Other titles, Aimersoft converter; also, there was a software offered where you can get the registration data from your register – in case you lost your HD – me too, me too; you can re-installed software you had gotten before.
    Happy 2009!

  9. Hopefully Starburn will be one of the faves brought back. Lost it due to a now dead laptop PC. Bought a new PC, now day-by-day attempting to gather the great programs previously obtained from GAOTD.

    PS: You guys ROCK!!!

  13. Hmm… There’s only four Saturdays and Sundays left (counting today). Maybe it’d be a good idea to run a game Giveaway every day/second day? Everyone would get more of the tops than just four…

  24. Happy holidays to all the GAOTD. staff and to all our visitors. Lets all hope 2009 is a much better year for everyone, weather here in the, U.S.A. or abroad.
I to am looking for interesting software in 2009. I would also strongly suggest bringing the game give away back to a daily giveaway rather then weekends only. Remember when you cut the daily games to weekends only ? it was only supposed to be temporary and that was way back in either April or May of 2008.
As others have asked and asked, repeatedly, to please bring back the daily game giveaway.
That said would make a wonderful start to the 2009 giveaway of the day.

Everyone, please have a very safe and joyous holiday season. For those that celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas and have a very happy & safe New Year.

    Cheers everyone.

  40. I would like to thank the GAOTD team for the constant surprises, presenting software programs, many of which have been fantastic! I’m a fanatical supporter of GAOTD, as this site is given me and so many of my friends an opportunity to experience these programs thoroughly and extensively without having to get someone to lend us the programs to try them out!

I and my friends have learned so very much from your site, as we’re not the experts of the web world as is so many of your other regulars here. For pure comic relief, there are always a good number of stuffed shirts here willing to publically display their clearly delineated technical limitations, which is also valuable, in that one distorted comment on a technical point or program by these individuals will almost always elicit a series of correct and wonderfully educational responses from those who are thankfully onboard here!

Humbly, I would make a just small suggestion to GAOTD on the behalf of myself as well as for my friends and others who are still novices in the web business, and that is to consider the occasional addition of programs that may be considered by some as more novice level oriented programs. Those that might have “laymen” language in mind as they explain their programs! There is nothing more frustrating for us novices as when we purchase a program that advertises “Easy to learn”, or “No Previous Web Experience Necessary”! Then to start the program, only to find that it immediately starts off with a wild tangle of code and other mysteries. Consider that computing has and will only become more and more a regular part of all of our lives on a day to day bases. We will be the majority of the consumer base of the future, therefore, would it not be logical, not to mention very practical for the industry to spend more time in producing more programs that can allow for the novice crowd to participate in or to learn from?

Again, thank you GAOTD for making all of this possible in a safe and clean (technically) as it is! Please keep up the great work!

  41. Im new to your site and was wondering have you ever offered windows word 2007 or better and if so wlll you ever again and if not do you plan to in the future.

  43. As a CS teacher, I check each AM before classes and encourage my students to do the same. You have enabled us to use software that would not be available in the budget and many students go on to purchase an upgraded version.

    Thank you

  44. Something that worked for me was contacting the person that created the software and they can send you a new activation key. That’s what I did with Glary Utilities Pro

  45. I would like to see 3D Desktop come back with a version that works. I downloaded and installed it 3 times and never could get it to work. Very disappointing.

  48. Thank you GAOTD for the wonderful stuff I have been downloading from your site in the past 6 months since I retired.

I found your site by accident, and I am so glad that I did.

Thanks to you, your team, and your partners.

  49. I think that Games should be a daily giveaway and listed on the program Giveaway site. Perhaps on the right hand side under Title Game Giveaway of The day. It seems silly that you have to go to an entirely different web site to get the games offered. Why can’t we have daily games and why can’t they be divided into sections like Games for PDA’s,Games for Playstation etc.

    Thank you so much
I’m sure it is possible to accomplish what others have mentioned
    J

  50. This is a great site and hats off to the people who thought of it, the software is 1st class unfortunately I lost a lot of it due to a system crash and would love to get the Muvee software and also something to track other users on my PC.

  51. Get drive imaging software and a backup hard drive and make images of your drives. If a drive goes south you’ll have a backup of it that you can just reimage.

Paragon Drive Backup will allow you to make the images while Windows is running, and 9.0 Express is free.
