This so-called “fix” DID NOT WORK for my system.

“100% CLEAN, NO ADWARE! NO SPYWARE!”? Nope, not at all. This BROWSER HIJACK clearly qualifies as adware.

In my house/castle we put Starburn on 2 computers, during the night and although we can both read, we were all very tired. So it happened to us as well, but I’m not a quitter so I told everyone not to uninstall the program.

Then last week I found this blog, and I thought “Oh Good the answer”, but it didn’t work for me either as I couldn’t trace my way through the file thread. But I solved it on my own computer, I needed a place to start so I searched for application data and from there I found the firefox thread and made the required change.

So drunk with my own success, I searched for application data on the other computer, but I found not a sausage. So I put my thinking head on, and repeated the search this time including hidden files, and success.

Sorry it took me so long to think of this, I was going off my rocket looking at all the blue on that home page.

Starburn was a hit at GOTD – no doubt about that. Multiple forum posts in multiple forum categories, comments on the download page, and screams into the night air.

I used a “Starburn” product months ago. It worked quite well. The program was lost in a computer crash. Pieces-parts of Starburn must have survived the crash because I was not able to install the GOTD version due to a Starburn driver issue (info from a Starburn error message pop-up during installation). I spent several hours over two days trying to make the GOTD program work.

The records show that a lot of effort from many GOTD users was spent on the Starburn program. Certainly Starburn rates another go with GOTD.

A second issue brought to point by the Starburn effort is “what happens when multiple users have problems with a GOTD offering”? Why have forums for users to post their problems if everyone knows little or no action will be taken? Twenty-four hour issues are wiped clean and we see no action from GOTD. At the very least GOTD should post a comment concerning an installation failure when many of its supporters have a problem.

Do we get an answer from the GOTD team? I hope so. Please notice that I used the word “supporters” – because that is what we are.

Please excuse the spelling errors – I am not very smart, the computer crashed and the dictionary don’t work!

I have attempted to fix the StarBurn+Firefox default page startup. I can
not find the file user.js ….. I have deleted StarBurn and files in
registry. I have also, deleted FireFox and reinstalled with no success.
Can’t seem to get my home page back. Any additional ideas ?

What is the quality of dvd when it shrinks dvd to 4gb by starburn. Any ideas? can it be compared with other ones around?

I downloaded Starburn later in the day & Installed on both a Vista & XP machine both of which default to Foxfire. In neither case could I find user.js on my system. Was it modified later in the day to remove this problem?

Is it not incredible that the Starburn Saga continues?
Again the childish boasting as in #9 and pointless remarks from someone who should learn to read the comments from day one so that he understands the principles involved as in #10.
Noticeable also that the Starburn team give no apology and try to pass the “permanent take over” of the Home Page as a “bug”.
Has the time not arrived to end this useless bickering and lay the Starburn story to rest?
