New Year parade







Happy Holidays to all the GOTD users and bypassers! Happy New Year!

It’s no secret we treat giveaway users with our traditional “The Best of” re-runs. Good news, guys! We did everything to get the highlights of 2011 at the same time this year as well. Starting January 2 we are holding our annual parade of the most worthy software of 2011. We insist that you get your laptops ready as it gonna be damn hot!

We’ve chosen a baker’s dozen of real hits, but still we can’t give you the names of those (nobody here wants to spoil the surprise). Except for quite a few names of developers. Engelmann, Paragon Software, Bitsum Technologies, Wondershare and others are going to take the floor one day each.

Well, that’s only half of the story. We are preparing the ground for a royal gift in the middle of January. “Any” Office fans better start anticipating right now. ;)

Since New Year is a holiday when dreams come true we are eager to try and bring to life some of your sacred software dreams. So think it over thoroughly and tell us what you wish to get from Giveaway in 2012. Post it either here as a comment or on Forum (which is open 24/7, by the way). :)

    As for game, an old giveaway’s partner has launched a brand new game, Hacker Evolution: Duality. He and we deserve that…

  13. I am wishing for a re-post of Web Page Maker. I missed that one, but a friend got the download, and has built a complete first time website for herself, using this software. The site looks professional. I was surprised.

  14. Bitsum technologies! All hail! It’s a real keeper but my brother insisted that he hate the nag screen-i missed the giveaway-I’ll get the full version for good!

    Wishlist? Adobe After Effects and Photoshop wouldn’t certainly make it to this site-it’s definitely a dream for now, but Alcohol 100% would be nice, and Scrivener that has recently released windows version.

    Anyway, i’m awaiting the re runs and another plethora of free gems this year!

  18. I’d like to see you offer Rip Tiger again. I purchased a full version so I have one (for one computer). I’ve been using it a very long time. It grabs stubbornly un-captureable video and music streams effortlessly.

  21. Speech recognition and/or voice-to-text!

    Know that speech recognition is included in Windows 7, but not all of them have that.

    Am looking for these for some friends with hand disabilities due to various combinations of age, arthritis, stroke, and other problems.

  23. You guys are so cool to think of a Best Of session — it sounds excellent. Thanks in advance! :D

    For game-related ideas, I recently bought Alawar’s Smash Frenzy 3 (I think it’s the best of a series of at least 4) and have a blast with it. Their Strike Ball series of 4 or more is also good, based on playing their demos. I bet you’d have a hit on your hands if you guys featured one or more of those series, and I remember they’ve appeared here before.

    Alawar’s Turtix series is fun too, although the first one’s kind of buggy on my system — all of these are less oriented towards “winning” and more toward having fun in the game environment.

  28. Happy New Year, people at GOTD, and thanks for all the daily fun and surprises. I’m delighted to hear that you are “eager to try and bring to life some of our sacred software dreams”! Since you have asked the question so nicely, my dream giveaways are ArtRage and Scrivener. Fingers crossed.

    Even less realistically, I’d also love to see you offer some tools for PHP developers, for example Zend Studio; content management systems, for example ExpressionEngine; and maybe some powerful commercial WordPress plugins or tutorial site memberships.

  33. Among my most favorite previous giveaways that I would love to have new versions of: Anvir Task Manager and Zoner Photo Studio. I would also love to have a good text-to-speech converter with high quality voices, and a really good PDF-to-Doc converter. (I’m trying to restrain myself from asking for too many giveaways.)

    It’s the only “reliable” paid office product other than Microsoft Office and Microsoft Works…

  69. There are two programs thatI previouslt got from this site.

    1) Was an underwater screensaver that had reeds flowing.

    2) Was a game where a robot entered a building and had to move objects to reveal things to collect and he laid bombs to blow his way through.

  81. I would like to see something from iSpring
    Last year we had iSpring Presenter. That’s a very good piece of software, but it’s nog new anymore, there are newer versions with different names. SO I would like to see something from Ispring, e.g. iSpring Suite (the best :D :P ), iSpring Pro, iSpring Kinetics, iSpring Quizmaker 6.0 (that one has survey options :) ).

    I would love to see Dreamweaver offered again and the Wondershare software (had several software items) which is excellent and trustworthy.

    There was another program that I got here (lost the name) which enabled repetitive tasks to be done easily (not macros). This one software made many things you do on your computer each day – automatic. I know I’m being vague and I apologize. I do remember that they were a fairly well known and reliable software company.

  92. Zoner Photo Studio 14 PRO. I started using version 13 from GOTD and it is very powerful. I have PhotoShop Elements 9 and for some things I like Zoner better. Easier to use some functions.

  100. Thanks for great stuff. I would like to see a scan-to-PDF program that works better than the print-to-PDF program did for me…I also would absolutely love, need, be thrilled with a data recovery program for images accidentally wiped from memory cards along with its MFT/MBR or whatever it is that FAT-32 creates on the cards. 100 year flood pix, shots of a lifetime, disappeared while transferring, I know they are still there, sure would like to bring them back! Test-Disk and Pandora didn’t do it…

  108. I’d love to see the latest version of Zoner Photo Studio, not the standard version that we usually get but the Pro version.

    I’d also like to see a re-run of the commercial version of Game Booster

    as well as an all round video editing/recording/conversion and playback software that includes the ability to splice video together. I know Camtasia is out of the question, but it would be fantastic if you could find something similar.

    Capture Wiz Pro would also be a nice catch. great software. I’ve actually got the latest version, but though i would suggest it as another possibility.

    Finally a decent database program that enables me to list all of the files on the hundreds of back up DVD’s and CD’s that I have. If possible to include music CD’s. we were given such a program some years ago, but I can’t remember the name of the software.

  109. I’d love to get a photo editing program that you can add people to photo. My husband passed away in August 9, 2012. We never took time to get a family photo made. I’d like to get a photo made of me and my boys and then add my husband to the picture so that we could have a family photo. The family photo is what I asked for every holiday and we never got one made. So I really hope we get an awesome photo editor to make my family photo.

  110. Forget about Tuneup Utilities 2012. It’s one of the software companies without the proper design ethics. The program is worst than a malware.

    Its very sticky and almost impossible to uninstall.

    Anyway, registry cleaning does not help with performance. It’s a gimmick started off by malware or scareware providers / developers.

    We need quality programs that are unknown. E.g. for all this time, I have only heard of overpriced Acronis in this economy, Until I tested EaseUs Backup. It’s simpler, get to the point solution! It’s companies like these deserves to be known rather than being monopolised by giants that has forgotten and don’t listen to their customers.

  112. Thanks for the great software offered here last year and also so far this year. I would love to see Aiseesoft Streaming Video Recorder, Rip Tiger and HD Audio Recorder offered on GAOTD in 2012.
