GGAOTD going offline for vacations season
Hello everyone!
Our team has made it into vacations season and we will be short on people for a few weeks. Actually, I’m writing that right from the beach:)
To compensate for temporary stuff shortage, we decided to switch to single site mode for those few weeks, that means that Game site will be offline and we will post games on our main site on weekends and software during business days. Once vacation season is over, the Game site will be back.
And that’s not all – we will be launching a new feature, Free Games Library, very soon!
We hope that improved Game site will be even more interesting for our visitors.

What about some pictures from you lying stretched out in the sun or doing other leisure activities like…(O no, can’t write it) or…(No, no, no!)?
The whole community might be very pleased if after all we get an optical impression of only a few of you guys rocking ‘backstage’ for this special offer. This goes with your consent not to visually stay anonymous at any rate (which to my mind isn’t necessary at all and should in general be considered as a major downside of the world wide web as by now).
One final advice: While on the beach as well as offshore, have an eye upon your living environment including the non-human! Who knows: If the viruses continously reported by GOTD visitors over the past months aren’t in fact originated developer-side as we have been hearing, may be you’ve caught them during last vacation before back home infecting the pc mouse which dispersed it in a digital way onto the GOTD software and games…

I hope you guys know what your doin with the giveawy “directory” you call it. Of course alot of your users just come here everyday for the free stuff, then split. But thats whats cool about! sometimes they post, sometimes not. But the thing is they come here every single day like routine. For some of us-> it is actually like “we get somethin FREE in this life” everyday when we wake up. Thats really the best part of it all. I can come here, and see what ya guys got for the day! Its a blast! When life is down, and the homeless are getting kicked outta parks and stuff-> and blah blah cry cry-> just getting the “somethin for FREE thing” is better then magic; even if i don’t download anything that day. Your users also enjoy commenting on the same thing with everyone else each day. I find tons of people find a message board somewhere on the net to call home. Some find an astrology board, some find a music board- gosh some even find “how to write keyloggers- boards”. Thats probably why people post here even when they don’t download [on that day]. This is the coolest site i have found on the net. Where somethin in life is actually FREE. You guys are changin the world cry cry… hehe.

Hey! Just got back from a business trip and have found out that you’re on holiday… Should’ve gone with you then so that I don’t miss anything with GGAOTD!!! Nevertheless, a fun and relaxing vacation month for the team!
I will miss the daily game offers. I do hope that games will replace those useless screemsavers! I read on other websites about GAOTD. The one thing in common that people did not like about GAOTD were the screensaver offers. You can find easily find screensavers all over the web. I accidently run into them all the time. So, GAOTD should take note before it is to late. Some damage was already done to your credibility by offering screensavers, but I notice more people coming back since screensavers have by in large been not introduced. Free or not, everyone got tired of screensavers. I dont want to sound ungrateful, but we need more DVD rippers, software to make our computers safer, converters, maybe remote access software offers. More software needs to be written for Windows Vista. All of my friends and relatives are using Vista now.
Hope GGAOTD have a great holiday. Or as you call it, “vacation”. We here on the coast dont refer to it as “vacation”. Time off from work here is called holiday. So please, I beg of you, please suspend with the screensavers! You will be doing yourselves a big favor.

Well this is third week… I have a hunch that GGAOTD isn’t coming back
Wow, is GGAOTD coming back? :(
Maybe all the unreasonable complaints about game sizes, download times, etc. made them wonder if it was worth it! I’m also referring to those who complained about the Double Games. Sometimes it’s better to not say anything if you don’t like the FREE thing someone is giving you. Just come back the next day and hope it’s more suited to your tastes. If not, then look in your folder of GGAOTD games that you DID like and play some of them. Surely you haven’t beaten all of them, have you? Here’s hoping for a return soon of the games, GAOTD fellas. Most of us did appreciate them. :)

Oh my, are people starting to yell at the ggaotd team for being on vacation so long? You seem to forget that they don’t have to do this, and the software they provide us is free. We’re not losing anything, and I think you complainers are being awfully ungrateful to them. If you’re so unsatisfied with the temporary shortage of FREE things, then you can go somewhere else.

I was wondering when this vacation thing would turn ugly. After I posted and got no responce to the sex sight link here and got no responce. Just to let all here know there are hundreds/thousands of free games, if you know how to google and use caution. Yes this was a cool place. In fact it was in my top 10. But in reality it has had a run of realy bad games and I am wondering what they are going to do about that. Yes, I am loosing interest. Maybe we are all being duped and the beach they are on is in Iraq, or Iran. (the conspiricist that I am). Maybe the games we play here have a subliminal message in them and we are all secretly being inducted too alqada. I mean think about it they throw some decent games out there for FREE and they get a huge fan base, then they gradually get worse and weed out a few then they get bad for a long time and more leave. Then they shut down for the “SEASON” (whatever that means) and people still stay and wish good vacation and all that yadda yadda. Now, could it be that those dedicated people who are still here, coming to a free gamesight that has no games, could we all be hypnotized.

Not sure if this is a totally U.S. based site…but I know in many european countries, the vacation “season” is an entire month. The whole country of Italy, for example, basicly shuts down (except for the tourist trade) for the entire month of August. There may still be hope.

It’s so absurd that some people start gossiping and start making their own senseless theories which make such fantastic sites look bad. I do believe the ‘daily’ game giveaways are gone. I can’t imagine why, duh? All the daily childish complaints people wrote have a tendency to knock the sauce out of anyone. What would be worse….31 days of no games or 31 varieties of the dwarf games? I think they have a “Random Theme Generator” that creates the dwarf games without the need of actual human developers. It’s BRILLIANT!! It’s likely the thousand monkeys on a thousands typewriters theory. Except that we’re all going to be so burned out by seeing them on the site that the greatest evolutionary result of all these dwarf permutations will simply get ignored and be forgotten.

I got referred 2 weeks ago while they are still on vacation. The first Game I saw was a pinball game that my system would not accept. I have a 3d vid card & Direct X newest & this thingy wouldn’t load into my system for nothing. Last weekend I got the Fairy game, not bad, but my roomie CAN’T beat it. He can’t get past level 6-2. Something wrong with a game he Can’t beat. After 14 hours of being pissed off by the game, he gave up. My sys is a lil slower than the game requires, BUT it PLAYS. I come on today looking for the weekend game & there isn’t one. Bummer, it was the only reason I bothered with this site anyway. Hope they all had a great vacation & that something will be here to play after labor-day (U.S.). If not there’s billions of Demos for me to try from other sites. Even Demos offer some relief to the daily grind. Guess we’ll just have to be patient & wait and see—–huh?

Your “vacation” may last until this time next year… Trust is the most valuable asset any company can have. You are wasting yours the longer this goes on without explaination and only grand promises. Ok, since oxygen is free, I have decided to take it away from all of you. No. Don’t complain, it was free, and it deserves it’s one month vacation, and possible never return.
Free games aren’t oxygen, we can live without them, with ease, but we like them, is it so bad that we want them back?
Furthermore, I am beginning to doubt they will ever return, and I am also beginning to doubt I’ll ever return to here either.

Whoa this is more fun than an actual game a day. Just coming back here and reading all this whining and yet there are some that whine with creativity. I will have to say this game freaks are a creative lot. Although I will point out also not the most literate. I can understand those trying to translate to English, but some of you go out and study for your G.E.D.

Hey, maybe we should make our own game out of this whole vacation thing.
Lets say that everyday you check GGAOTD, you get 5 points. If you post a comment, you get an additional 3 points. If you reference this game in your comment, you will get you an additional point.
Each day you have the potential of earning 9 points.
You will have to keep your own score, and it will be on the honor system.
This game will end at the first sight of a game actually being offered as a giveaway on GGAOTD, or the end of the world.(which ever comes first)
Winner will be determined by most points earned during game play.
A drawing will result if game ends in a tie.
The winner shall receive all the recognition deserved for being so diligent in their search for the ultimate Free Game Giveaway of the Day.

Not likely. I don’t think they are coming back, and if they are, hopefully they have some new companies for us. That would be awesome. And yes, I do wish I had holidays like this, but their single holiday is as long as two of mine.

Come on guys. Has it occurred to you all they are in Europe where people there get actual vacation time? It is not uncommon there to get 2 months of vacation. Be patient!

Like I was saying to guitarzan, the site mostfun.com, not mostfungames.com is a good place for free games. For your viewing a brief commercial with their games, you get to play for free. Top quality, frequently updated games too. My son, a dedicated game player, loves this site. As for spyware, adware, I find none. I run fulltime spyware detection and have no problems with mostfun at all. A final note, Aug. 2 to Sept. 6, that’s quite a vacation GGAOTD has going there. Hope they make it back by Thanksgiving!

If so, would you kindly let us know a date to expect you? If not, it would be nice to know that as well. I’d love to see some more arkanoid, puzzle/logic, type games.

Guitarzan, I don’t consider cookies so much as spyware – many sites use tracking cookies. I flush my cookies most every day, but I don’t worry about them. I’d be concerned with a spyware executable or spyware that starts up everytime you start Windows. My wife plays the mostfun games, and you’re right, I did notice it puts something in the startup. I don’t tolerate anything I didn’t install in my Windows startup so I run msconfig and instantly remove any offenders. It takes constant monitoring of your right hand taskbar and Windows startup to keep all the crap that’s out there today from bogging your system down. I use utilites for monitoring and cleaning – but have them only run when I want them too, not constantly.

I have never had a problem with mostfun and spyware, tracking cookies I delete twice a week and always keep a eye out for anything that loads at startup. Ive had mostfun on my computer for about three-four months and have not had a problem.
Wally I have heard that the games will return at the end of the month, not holding my breath.

I put Dorothy’s advice a while back into motion. I installed the games player from mosyfun.com into my mechine. I had no problem with spyware, adware or whatever. HOWEVER, the games player apparently runs at a much faster speed than my processor because NONE of their games would play on my mechine. The game would start to load, & subsequently lock-up or freeze my system. The average person is not willing to wait for 3 hrs for a simple game to load. I can get many of those games as Demos from other sites on the net, & the demos work. It’s just that the Games Player wouldn’t work with what I got. Thanks anyway. I had to remove it. Still found NO spyware/adware from the site in my computer, even after uninstall was complete.
P.S. I can’t read & type at the same time, & typing in the dark does have it’s disadvantages. I meant to type “mosTfun.com” not mosYfun.com as it reads. sorry all.
